What is the M-Phase also known as?

The cell cycle has 5 main sections: G0, G1, S and G2-phase – these are all part of Interphase. Interphase is part of the cell cycle but not considered a part of mitosis. The fifth is M-Phase and it refers to Mitosis and Cytokinesis.Mitosis is made up of Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase. During Prophase, the nuclear envelope dissolves and the DNA condenses to form chromosomes. During Metaphase, the chromosomes line up along the middle of the cell with the centromeres attached to the spindle fibers. During Anaphase, the chromosomes pull apart. During Telophase, the cell membrane begins to cleave and the two new nuclear envelopes form, then Cytokinesis. The chromosome copying occurs during S-phase (which is during Interphase). The division occurs during M-phase.
