What does Asch’s conformity experiment say about our society?

In the Milgram experiment, we saw that people are likely to do what they are told to do, even if they do not like what they are being told to do.  This was because they wanted to bow to authority. In the Asch test, people also showed that they would say something that they (probably) thought was not true.  But this time it was not because of authority.  This time it was because of peer pressure. So this experiment shows that people in our society do not like to be different from their peers.  If their peers say one thing, they will be likely to go along with it, even if it is not what they truly think.
