In Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, Caesar’s ghost appears to Brutus while Brutus is dozing.  The ghost tells Brutus that he is Brutus’s evil side, and says that he will see Brutus again, at Philippi. This comes at a time when Brutus is regretting having assassinated Caesar.  Chaos has broken out in Rome, and Brutus questions Cassius’s integrity and honesty. Whether or not the ghost is a ghost or a creation of Brutus’s mind is ambiguous, but that Brutus has Caesar on his mind while the battle is being fought, is not.  His words at the time of his death reveal he is still thinking of Caesar:Caesar, now be still.I killed not thee with half so good a will. (Act 5.5.56-57)
