The relationship between father and daughter in Athenian law was very much one sided.  The father had all the power and the daughter had none.  This is quite typical of the law of parents and children in most times and places very long before the present.I do think Egeus has given all the information that matters.  He is her father, she is his daughter.  Legally speaking, nothing else is relevant.  It does not matter what Demetrius or Hermia or Lysander has done.  As long as Egeus says Hermia must marry, she may either obey him or suffer the consequences.
